Filling Storage On an MTP Kindle

In order to properly prevent updates, it is recommended that you fill your storage to at or below 100mb.

You have to fill the storage on your Kindle during jailbreaking in order to prevent updates that can ruin your jailbreak. This guide covers the 3 methods of doing so.

Method 1 - Universal Script

This tool is not created nor maintained by the Kindle Modding Organization

  1. Download the tool from the Releases section on the project’s GitHub.
  2. Follow the instructions in the README.
  3. Follow the instructions on screen to fill your Kindle’s storage, note that it may take a while depending on how much storage you need to fill.

For methods 2 and 3, it can be useful to put the files in a dedicated folder as to not clutter everything.

Method 2 - Use premade filler files

  1. Download one of the premade .zip files from here
  2. Transfer enough of the files to your Kindle to fill the storage.

Method 3 - Use Random Junk Files

  1. Find any random files, preferably larger ones or use a dummy file generator
  2. Simply copy them to your Kindle
